About the Trust
The Community Legacy Trust is a regeneration charity, established in 2009, to regenerate communities by providing affordable homes, workspace and other community owned assets in ways which maximise their impact and social benefits.
It operates by identifying areas in need of regeneration with a range of partners and acting to implement regeneration schemes in partnership with local communities.
In each community the aim is to support local people in coming together to form Community Land Trust or Local Housing Trust initiatives which will work with The Community Legacy Trust acting as client for the regeneration scheme.
The relevant local Trust will ultimately take ownership of regeneration schemes from The Community Legacy Trust.
The Vision
The Community Legacy Trust is a legacy vehicle which aims to:
- Provide a long term recycled income for the community
- Provide quality outcomes which benefit local communities
- Secure funding from housing and regeneration agencies
- Secure land from public and private authorities
